student accounts

We are an academic instituion and we have students & faculty email accounts with zimbra .
As we have alumni student we need to migrate the alumni to exchange till we have a new alumni installation.

Our current authentication is thru our ldap system (external authentication).
In this case of external authentication how can we migrate using imapsync. Usually its from admin auth in imapsync .

if anybody could help it would be great.
