Hello
i want to migrate from my exchange 2007 to ZCS 8.0.2 installed on Ubuntu 12.04
I run zcs migration wizard on other machine in exchange domain according to manual. this machine has configured outlook profile and hasn't exchange installed.
I can normally log on to my admin interface https : // zimbradomain:7071
but

Migration Exchange2007 -> ZCS Stopped

Hello
I try to migrate User by using "User migration -> Outlook profile" or another way and i always stuck with this. Wizard just stop and write 180~ MB Dump file

bug contact group zcs 8.0.2 ?

Hi there,

I have a issue with my contact groups since I've upgrade zcs 7.2.2 to zcs 8.0.2

Just one contact appear in "To :" filed when I send an email to a contact group.

Any idea please ? This is very annoying for my users and I can't figure it out how to fix this.

Imapsync missing email

Hi

I use Zimbra 8.0.2_GA_5569 (build 20121210115059) - OpenSource Edition running on CentOS release 6.3. I'm trying to migrate all mailboxes through the imapsync. This is the command that i using:

imapsync --syncinternaldates --subscribe --allowsizemismatch --host1 iphost1 --host2 iphost2 --user1 sarahm --authuser1 root --authmech1 PLAIN --user2 sarah.milani --authuser2 admin --password2 pass2 --regextrans2 's/saved-messages/INBOX/' --regextrans2 's/mail-trash/trash/' --regextrans2 's/sent-mail/sent/' --regextrans2 's/saved-drafts/Drafts/' --regextrans2 's/spam-mail/Junk/' --regextrans2 's/virus-mail/Junk/'

My enviromment:

host 1 (openwebmail) host2 (zimbra)
host3 (imapsync)


When i execute imapsync at the first time:

this is the right value of the total amount of emails in my old mailbox (openwebmail), BUT when i access my mailbox in ZIMBRA web client have only 337 emails messages....missing 10 messages !! Then when i execute the same command one more time:

Messages transferred : 10
Messages skipped : 337

Now i have all email messages in my mailbox in Zimbra : 347 messages !

ps: When i execute imapsync with user (sarahm) in authuser1 (and not root) and user password, all messages are import in first time. =/

I Really appreciate any help.

imapsync date string error

Hi,


today I want start syncing the mail accounts from out old zimbra 5 to zimbra 8 using imapsync.

After installing imapsync and libdate-manip-perl
I get the following message:


+ NO msg #5032 [4V6aH6eaFOxssgIO/wSNwQ] in Cervical Ca Screening
+ Copying msg #5032:2554 to folder Cervical Ca Screening
flags from : [\Seen]["06 Nov 2012 11:33:03 +0300"]
51 BAD parse error: unexpected character in date string
at /usr/bin/imapsync line 1178
Couldn't append msg #5032 (Subject:[Fwd: VIA training for ****]) to folder Cervical Ca Screening: 51 BAD parse error: unexpected character in date string

Any ideas? Could the problem be the libdate-manip from ubuntu?

Problem with running imapsync ('could not add flags')

So I have been trying to migrate some test users from our old IMAP setup (using Dovecot) to Zimbra, it seems imapsync isn't able to pull all the folders so I have to do things like --folderrec, etc. Here is the command line:

The initial sync for the most part works fine (except for the missing folders which I fill in on subsequent runs, but when I do, it spits out this:

Basically imapsync is unable to add flags to a migrated message so Zimbra then drops the IMAP connection, and I get three pages of SSL handshake and IMAP errors as it no longer has a connection.

This is really slowing down the migration of users, I even tried using imapsync v1.525 from git and it still has the same issue.

Ideas? (thanks in advance)

hi... im using zimbra 7.1.3 zcs in my organization. now im planing to shift my zcs from current version to 8.0 version.is anyone knows the procedure of taking backup and restoring of all mail acounts from old version of zimbra to new version zimbra... please help me :)

Migration from Lotus Domino to Zimbra

Hello,

We are migrating from Lotus Domino 8.5 to Zimbra 8.0.2 using the ZCSDominoMigrationWizard-8.0.2.686 tool.
The problem is that the emails in Zimbra show the sender and recipients with Lotus Canonical name instead of an correct email address.

In Zimbra appears CN=LauraMuñozDávila/OU=Sistemas/O=eprinsa instead of laura@eprinsa.es

We are found posts where the solution is enter our Lotus domain name in the BaseDN field, but does not work.

Can you help us?

NSF Import Wizard crashing.

Hello,

The NSF Import Wizard (NSFMigration-8.0.2.686.exe) is crashing with following error-

Unknown exception occured, leaving the Migration process.
Exception Address: 0x76a7b727

We are using Zimbra 8.0.2 NE.

Users are using IBM Lotus Domino Smart Cloud, and they only have local NSF files. Targeted NSF files are about 5GB + in size.

Please provide any workaround to convert NSF files to Zimbra.

How to determine ou= and o= for GroupWise migration tool?

According to the documentation, you're supposed to enter the username for the GroupWise server in the form cn=user,ou=X,o=Y.

Migrating from GroupWise to Zimbra Collaboration Suite

I have tried dozens of likely values for ou= and o= as well as the plain username and GWM fails to authenticate to the GroupWise server with the error "unable to bind to LDAP server".

Is there some trick or rule of thumb for determining the correct values for ou and o from the contents of the LDAP?

Migration from Exchange 2003 to ZCS 8.0.3 problem

I am trying to migrate Exchange Server 2003 to Zimbra 8.0.3 Open Source Edition with the Migration wizard
When I select the accounts to migrate only the first 30 are eligible to do it. The other accounts appears as existing in Zimbra.
This is not happend on Zimbra 7.2
Are there any limit in the 8.0 version?

migration from postfix to zimbra

Hi everyone,

I am looking for zimbra migration from postfix email server with cyrusimap database.

Set up consists of a postfix email server ( 10.0.0.100 ) , CentOS Directory server ( 10.0.0.101 ). All the users are authenticating to email server via Directory server. I mean to say that if users wanna read the emails from web email client ( squirrelmail ) they are going to authenticated form directory server box.

Now I wanna change to zimbra ( 10.0.0.200).

Is it possible to use the same authentication mechanism from directory server. ?? ???
Can I migrate all the user mailboxes from old to new zimbra. ????
Also will I be able to migrate address book and preferences of the users to new Zimbra...


Any Ideas would be appreciated .....

Hello. Excuse me for my bad english. Looked through all 115 pages topic on your forum, but really have not found a solution for my problem.
1. There is a server Mdaemon 13.0.4. since it requires only accounts. Unloaded his accounts .csv and converts from a .xml file. Take into account all the encoding and. User in Zimbra have to reserve resources (rooms,equipment) defined in Lotus Domino. Is it possible?

Zimbra 8.0.2 + Exchange as INTERNAL mta with authentication instead postfix

Good evening!

We are trying to set up zimbra to use exchange instead postifix to send internal and external mails ( it's not the definitive solution, we need it for migration purpose).


Actually the server ( 192.168.9.30 ) is configured this way:

Internal MTA : local postfix ( 192.168.9.30 )
Relay host : mail.rotas.com ( is uses authentication , we used this tutorial http://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Outgoing_SMTP_Authentication )
Everything is working great, internal mail ok, external too.
The problem is that we have also an exchange server, we are trying to kill it ( XD ). To keep internal and external mail sincronized we'd like to send EVERYTHING via exchange. Just for a while, when the migration is ok we will return to the default config.

The target configuration:

Internal MTA: exchange (192.168.9.26 )
PROBLEM: exchange needs authentication. How can i provide auth to exchange when sending mails?
I'm getting mad to find a link or a tutorial to do this.

Migration from Exchange - emails invisibles

Hi,

I've used the migration wizard to transfert datas from Exchange to ZCS 8 and the process ended without errors.

My problem is that emails imported are invisibles. Addressbook and Calendar are fine but no mails and no folders in the mailboxes.
Mails arrived since migration are here.
If I look to the quota view, emails seems to be there because accounts have GB of datas each.

Somebody had this issue yet ?

ZimbraMigration_8.0.3.780 problems migrating users from exchange 2010 to Zimbra 8

Hi,

Trying to migrate users from Exchange 2010 to VMware Zimbra 8.
I have created the users in zimbra manually and successfully enabled external authentication via the active directory.

I am now in the process of attempting to "mass" migrate user mailboxes from exchange and to zimbra with the use of ZCS Migration Wizard for Exchange (ZimbraMigration_8.0.3.780) unsuccessfully.
The account used is the "migration" exchange user which was given full access to domain and exchange. I pass from all phases of the wizard (Welcome-Migrate), i am able to select users via "Object Picker" but in results section it fails with "Migration failed - Invalid Account". I can only migrate the "migration" mailbox successfully. No other mailboxes.

Turned all internet upside down but could not find anything regarding this error. Access to Zimbra is confirmed, "migration" account was given all (at least all i could find) permissions on exchange and domain levels, cannot think of something else.

Attached is the XML of the configuration used during the wizard. zmconfig.xml.zip
Any help would be appreciated.

*Note: In "Source" section of the wizard, it only works if i put the ip of the domain controller and not the exchange server. If i put the ip of the exchange it fails to authenticate..

Migrating from Office 365 to Zimbra

I've had nothing but poor support from Office 365, and we're considering moving our service to an open source solution. Anyone got any guides/success migrating office 365 to Zimbra? We do not have a hybrid environment with a local exchange server. It is all cloud based with us.

From Postfix+Courier-IMAP to Zimbra

Dear all,
I'm in the process to test out Zimbra. So I've installed it on a test environment. Now I need to import some data and begin testing.

How can I import my maildir from my actual email server to Zimbra ( I've installed it on ubuntu under ESXi 5.1)?

Have read some script and guide around but that's not clear to me. Anyone has done something similar? Hints?
